The Luckiest Artist Studio in NYC
2026
Performance

For most of the months after graduation, I felt like a wandering spirit drifting through the streets, without a stable space to make work.
Even after getting this studio, I didn’t move in during the first month because I was busy with other things. But honestly, there was another reason:
Moving into a space means a lot to me.
It could never be just carrying boxes in and calling it a day.
For me, moving in is the critical moment of getting to know a new space — building trust, making a good first impression, and beginning a relationship.
Just like New Year rituals, move-in rituals exist across many cultures. So I thought:
What if I gathered luck rituals from around the world and brought them with me into this new studio?
Through feng shui, I found an auspicious day. I practiced move-in rituals from different cultures, and invited two friends — whose zodiac signs and energies felt especially compatible — to witness the occasion.
天时 地利 人和
Right timing, right place, right people.
Together, we carried all possible luck into the space.
After tossing six coins and playing Auld Lang Syne six times, the studio finally acknowledged our bond, and our friendship officially began.(友谊短跑)
