Paper Crane Project
(2025—????)“I folded 24 origami (paper)cranes during the entire sunset at Maiko Park’s seaside. Instead of measuring with time, I chose a new unit to understand the world.”
This project began as a way to cope — folding paper cranes whenever I felt lost, anxious, or unsure of what to do next. Over time, it became a habit, then a practice.
At the seaside of Maiko Park, watching a sunset, I realized I had stopped counting minutes. I was counting cranes instead.
Since then, I have been using paper cranes as a unit to understand the world, and everything.
