Tokyo Accident (2023-) is a multi-media work that includes videos, sounds, projections, and sculptures. The idea originates from a trip to Tokyo in the spring of 2023. During a 12-hour urban wandering, I had some fantastic and joyful experiences. Upon returning to New York, I found myself immersed in those moments so deep, leading me to think about various relationships and mutual influences between people and cities, and how a nomadic outsider can establish connections with a place and its people, and how they come to understand themselves. Simultaneously, I was deeply fascinated by the urban legends, and Japan is a country rich with such tales. This led me to question whether my experience was in fact an urban legend I had lived through. I now wish to share this story...
